“The purpose of this training program is to help understand the mechanisms of the EU, as well as raise awareness of the importance of the role of parliament, parliamentary democracy, as well as the values \u200b\u200bthat it stands for,” the text of the document says.

In addition, each participating country - Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain - will have a separate module.

It will be followed by another one - in Brussels or Strasbourg, intended for a limited number of journalists who will be selected from the participants in the first module, the authors report.

As part of the contract, the contractor needs to organize and conduct the program in the respective country, select participants for both modules, and provide information support and public relations.

The total funding will be €3.5 million.

Nikita Danyuk, deputy director of the RUDN Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts, member of the Russian Civic Chamber, in a conversation with RT noted that with the help of such training programs, the European Parliament is trying to “reflash” European journalists to create a profitable information picture.

“In order to create that information picture that would be beneficial for the ruling elites within the EU, it is important for them to format journalists to certain standards.

In this case, this grant cannot be called anything other than the selection of the most promising propagandists who will work out a certain line and agenda.

The most deceitful ideas, fakes, manipulations and simply lies are served under the sauce that these are democratic values, that this is freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, ”concluded the expert.

Earlier, the European Commission planned to allocate up to €800,000 for a program to "promote and protect" democracy and the rule of law in Tajikistan.
