[Explanation] 2022 coincides with the 360th anniversary of Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan. On June 23, the academic seminar "Commemorating Zheng Chenggong's 360th Anniversary of Zheng Chenggong's Recovery of Taiwan" opened in Xiamen, Fujian. More than 200 experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated online and offline. .

  [Explanation] Zheng Chenggong is a native of Nan'an, Quanzhou, Fujian. From 1661 to the beginning of 1662, he set out from Fujian, led his troops to expedition eastward, expelled the Dutch invaders, and recovered his motherland, Taiwan, which had been occupied for 38 years.

For 360 years, Zheng Chenggong has been praised by compatriots on both sides of the strait as a national hero to this day.

  Because I was born in Fuzhou, I knew from a young age that there was a Taiwan opposite. There was a person in Chinese history called Zheng Chenggong, who recaptured Taiwan.

His greatest and greatest achievement was to take back Taiwan from foreigners, and he played a very important role in establishing Taiwan as a part of China's territory.

  [Explanation] Xiamen University has the glorious tradition and profound accumulation of Zheng Chenggong's research.

Since 1962, Xiamen University has held several academic seminars to review and cherish Zheng Chenggong's historical achievements. As a witness, the 92-year-old Professor Chen Kongli has a fresh memory of all the academic seminars.

  The first time was in 1962 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan, and I participated 60 years ago.

This time it was the 360th (anniversary) and I also participated, so I have participated in five conferences in the past 60 years, I am afraid it is very few.

  [Explanation] Xiamen University once again held an academic seminar to commemorate Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan, which Chen Kongli believes has important historical and practical significance.

  (Some people in Taiwan) misinterpreted Zheng Chenggong's history. I used a lot of materials to refute him. Historical materials are a kind of evidence to refute him. The article I wrote was about this.

In addition to the keynote speeches, experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will also focus on "Commemorating Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan" to discuss in depth the historical process of Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan, Zheng Chenggong and cross-strait historical memory, and Zheng Chenggong's spirit the significance of the times, etc.
