A 19-year-old student died on Wednesday after receiving two stab wounds, the Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) prosecutor's office told

The victim had been assaulted on Wednesday June 15 while she was with her friends after an alcoholic evening.

Strangers would have approached them in the street in Clermont-Ferrand to ask them for beers.

They would have been refused and one of them would have attacked the young man with a bladed weapon.

Three suspects arrested

The victim had been transported in critical condition to the town's university hospital.

She finally died a week after the events.

Three young men aged 17 and 21 were arrested and then charged with attempted murder.

But, the facts could be requalified with the death of the victim.

Two were placed in pre-trial detention and the third under judicial control.

A teenage girl, who accompanied the three suspects, had been taken into custody as a witness.
