“We are striving for this,” RIA Novosti quotes her answer to a question about Washington’s desire to reach an agreement between Finland, Sweden and Turkey before the start of the NATO summit.

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö said earlier that Finland is unlikely to be able to join NATO until September due to disagreements at a meeting with Turkey and Sweden at NATO headquarters.

According to the newspaper Hürriyet, Ankara has requested written guarantees from Finland and Sweden to resolve the differences before these countries join NATO.

The demands of the Turkish side were made because of the support by Finland and Sweden of organizations recognized as terrorist in Turkey.

According to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the documents received from Sweden and Finland are "far from Ankara's expectations".
