South Korea reports first two suspected monkeypox cases

South Korea has reported its first two suspected cases of monkeypox, public health officials said today.

The Korea Agency for Disease Control and Prevention said two possible cases were detected on Tuesday and diagnostic tests are underway.

One of the patients, a foreigner, arrived in the country on Monday, and the other, a South Korean, arrived on Tuesday, the agency said.

Both are subject to solitary treatment in two hospitals.
