The agency writes that on May 25, the US National Reconnaissance and Space Administration (NRO) signed a contract with Maxar Intelligence Inc.

The contract is the "largest ever negotiated by NRO for the acquisition of commercial images."

According to RIA Novosti, NRO is a structure within the Pentagon.

Its tasks include the creation, launch and operation of reconnaissance satellites, as well as the transfer of intelligence data to various US government departments.

"Under the agreement, Maxar will continue to provide high-definition commercial satellite imagery for the needs of the US defense-intelligence community, as well as missions conducted in partnership with US allies and partners," the company documents say.

In a separate press release, the company stressed the importance of “commercial geospatial intelligence” and the importance of programs that “enable the exchange of unclassified information between the United States and its allies and NATO partners,” including in light of the Ukraine crisis.

On the morning of June 22, a fire was extinguished at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region.

The head of the region, Vasily Golubev, said that fragments of two drones were found on the territory of the plant.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after the explosions at the plant.

As Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of Roscosmos, noted, US private companies collect visual and radar data to provide Ukraine with the information necessary for missile guidance.

He recalled that the leading operators who are engaged in algorithms for creating seamless, highly detailed images of the earth's surface today work mainly for the Pentagon.
