Who will succeed Richard Ferrand?

A large part of the battle for the presidency of the National Assembly will be disputed this Wednesday.

The presidential coalition will appoint its candidate who will almost certainly become the fourth person in the state.

In a good position are Barbara Pompili, Eric Woerth or even Joël Giraud.

First there is the one that could go from government to perch.

The current Minister of Overseas Territories, Yaël Braun-Pivet wants to take the reins of an institution she knows well, having been president of the law commission for five years.

The former Minister of Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili will also try to become the first woman president of the Assembly.

Joël Giraud aims to reach the perch

Just like the deputy of Loire-Atlantique Sophie Errante.

Roland Lescure, he also got into the race.

He was previously chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee.

The former Secretary of State for Rurality Joël Giraud also aims to reach the perch, he who has been a deputy for the Hautes-Alpes since 2002. Joined Emmanuel Macron in February, Eric Woerth is also aiming for the highest office of the Palais Bourbon .

Opposition groups will also be able to propose their candidate

The former minister of Nicolas Sarkozy chaired the Finance Committee under the previous legislature.

Finally, next Tuesday during the vote in the hemicycle, the other opposition groups will also be able to propose their candidate, like Annie Genevard for Les Républicains.

But barring a twist, their chances of winning will be almost nil.
