His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, affirmed the UAE's continuous support for everything that is in the interest of the brotherly Somali people, achieving their aspirations for development, stability and prosperity, and building a better future for their people of peace and prosperity.
This came when His Highness received, yesterday, at Al Shati Palace, President of the sisterly Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, where His Highness welcomed his visit to the country and congratulated him on assuming the duties of the presidency of Somalia, wishing him success in leading his country and achieving the aspirations of his people for stability, progress and peace.
While the President of the Republic of Somalia expressed his appreciation for the historical positions of the UAE and its continuous support for his country, expressing his thanks for the good feelings expressed by His Highness towards the Somali people, and his wishes for the UAE, under his leadership, further progress and development.
His Highness and President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud discussed brotherly relations between the two countries, and opportunities to enhance joint cooperation between them in various fields, especially development and peace efforts in brotherly Somalia.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting the brotherly Somali people in order to consolidate the building of their state and move forward towards a future in which peace and stability, based on the brotherly bonds linking the two countries and their peoples, stressing the UAE's keenness to strengthen the efforts of The Somali government and state institutions in construction, development and the promotion of stability.
For his part, the Somali president expressed his aspiration to work on developing cooperation between the UAE and Somalia to meet the aspirations of the peoples of the two brotherly countries, and contribute to enhancing stability and security in the region.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and the diplomatic advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash. Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, and the country’s ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ahmed Al Othman, and the delegation accompanying the Somali president.
