The President of the Republic spent the day on Tuesday consulting the political leaders of the opposition groups.

It continues on Wednesday.

His strategy is difficult to understand: what is the Head of State looking for?

TO ANALYSE

By receiving the party leaders at the Elysee Palace this Tuesday and Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron uses a method that has already worked in the past: to show that the hour is serious.

The unprecedented political crisis requires summoning the living forces of the Nation.

Except that the political situation is different today: "It is Emmanuel Macron and he alone, who is the author and responsible for this cataclysmic situation", summarizes a tenor of the majority.

Divide and rule ?

His strategy is to try to transfer his failure, his political problem, to the ranks of the opposition parties.

To create divisions, this time, in the camp of his opponents.

The latter are now divided in their own camp between two lines.

The first line is as follows: should we be "responsible" and vote for certain texts, such as Emmanuel Macron's finance bill?

And a second more radical line: blocking.

By renaming Elisabeth Borne, Emmanuel Macron has clearly sent the signal for the moment that he does not want to change his strategy: waiting for the "rotten situation", as summarized by a close friend of the president.

Emmanuel Macron hopes that in the coming months, the French will see that the country is totally blocked and end up regretting their vote to finally ask for a dissolution of the National Assembly.

A strategy of the mouse hole which does not make consensus even within the government.

Several ministers do not hide in private that in the face of such a political crisis, only a government of national unity can allow Emmanuel Macron to get out of it and above all, the country to be governed and therefore to move forward.
