  • In 1985, Madonna traveled to Japan for the first time to promote her second album,

    Like a Virgin

    .

  • During the stay, the Japanese photographer Kenji Wakasugi has only 45 minutes to shoot with the young singer for

    Playboy

    magazine .

  • A lapse of time finally sufficient to capture the birth of an icon.

  • The Madonna already masters her image, the intensity of her gaze, the insolence, and the power of her character.

  • The prints from the series are exhibited for the first time in France, 37 years after the shoot.

  • The images now take on a whole new dimension with regard to the career of the star, and the evolution of successive fashions.

  • "I discovered this partially unpublished series thanks to the research work of Nick Groarke, an English publisher who found these images and decided to publish a limited edition book of this session: 'Adore'" explains Julia Gragnon, the manager of the Galerie de l'Instant, in a press release.

  • Other news, we now know that Madonna will have the honors of a biopic in the cinema in 2023. The American magazine

    Variety

recently revealed that it is the young actress Julia Gardner (

    Ozark

series ) who will play the Madonna.
