According to her, the authorities of the Spanish autonomous community of Castile-la-Mancha sealed the farm where the case was discovered.

Sources said a girl from the Autonomous Community of Madrid contracted cholera after she drank untreated water, believed to be from a well on the farm.

She was hospitalized and has since been discharged from the hospital.

Local authorities are investigating the source of infection and possible other infected. 

The newspaper writes, citing a report from the Spanish Ministry of Health and data in the scientific literature, that this may be the first autochthonous (independent of external factors) case of cholera infection in the country since 1979.
