Today, Wednesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will arrive in Turkey on his first official visit from the Jordanian capital, Amman, as part of a tour he started with a visit to Egypt, during which he met President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Prince bin Salman is visiting Turkey with the aim of fully normalizing relations that have been damaged in recent years between the two countries. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pre-empted the visit with statements in which he said, "God willing, we will see to what level we can advance relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia."

Reuters quoted a senior Turkish official, who asked not to be named, that bin Salman's visit is expected to achieve "full normalization and restore the pre-crisis period," adding that "a new era will begin."

This source added that agreements in the fields of energy, economy and security will be signed during Prince bin Salman's visit, while work is also underway on a plan for Saudi funds to enter the capital markets in Turkey.

The first chapter of the reconciliation took place at the end of April, when Erdogan visited Riyadh and discussed with the Saudi Crown Prince ways to develop relations between the two countries.

Jordanian-Saudi talks

Yesterday, King Abdullah II of Jordan met the Saudi Crown Prince, and they held a session of bilateral talks, followed by an expanded session of talks.

The King of Jordan presented the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia with the necklace of Hussein bin Ali, Jordan's highest honor.

A statement by the Royal Court in Jordan stated that the King assured the Saudi Crown Prince of his country's permanent support for Riyadh in the face of any attacks it is exposed to, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is part of the security of Jordan and the region.

And the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported that the discussions focused on ways to enhance economic cooperation, and the sectors in which the Saudi Jordanian Investment Fund can contribute.

On the other hand, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for joint cooperation and opportunities for enhancing it in various fields were reviewed, and that the two parties discussed the latest regional and international developments and coordinated efforts in this regard.

The tour of the Saudi crown prince precedes an expected Arab-American summit that his country will host in mid-July, with the participation of US President Joe Biden, which gives it great importance, especially in light of regional and global developments that require international coordination.
