A draft law on the creation of a Russian mobile app store was submitted to the State Duma

The bill was introduced by the Russian government.

According to the text of the draft law, the Russian analogue of the application store will have to be pre-installed on devices without fail.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on additional measures to ensure Russia's information security. 

Nikolai Lishin, deputy head of the information systems department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that the digital space of Russia is filled with imported systems and programs and this poses a threat to the country's security.
