It is reported by The Washington Post.

The incident occurred when USS Sirocco and USNS Choctaw County were crossing in international waters.

Iranian boats moved towards them.

They did not change course until the US ships sounded a warning.

“The actions of the Iranian Navy fell short of international standards of professional or safe maritime conduct, increasing the risk of miscalculation and collision,” said US Central Command spokesman Colonel Joseph Buccino.

Middle Eastern boats also tried to approach the American ship, but they were stopped by a flare.
