During the second round of legislative elections this Sunday, the town of Thénezay, in Deux-Sèvres, placed the two finalists in the second constituency tied in number of votes.
An anecdote not so surprising for this village, which had also not decided between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen during the presidential election.
It is a village that cannot decide.
In Deux-Sèvres, the commune of Thénezay, with nearly 1,400 inhabitants, has the particularity of having placed the two finalist candidates equally in the second constituency of the department, during the second round of the legislative elections.
Delphine Batho (Nupes) and Cécilia Rochefort (Together!) both totaled 193 votes this Sunday.
A surprising result, but not for this village: this is the third time that such a scenario has occurred this year!

Results identical to the presidential election
For the presidential election, the inhabitants of Thénezay had effectively failed to decide between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen either.
In the first round, the two future finalists had each collected 228 votes.
And again during the second round 15 days later: the two candidates had received 193 votes, notes France Bleu.

Finally, in the second constituency of Deux-Sèvres, Delphine Batho won with 57.88%, and more than 7,000 votes ahead of her competitor Cécilia Rochefort.
A significant difference, while other constituencies experienced greater suspense.
