On Tuesday, the regional management held a press conference after it became known that the regional director had asked to leave his post.

This after massive criticism from the care staff where, among other things, 174 doctors want to see her resignation.

"Needed to do a proper screening"

But during the press conference, the doctors' resignation demands were hardly commented on.

Instead, all three regional councils joined behind the regional director, calling all three of her efforts fantastic, and that they were deeply impressed and grateful.

- When we took over the majority, we hired her for an assignment that is tough but also important for our entire region.

We needed to do a proper screening of the entire business and after the screening, a change of the entire organization would be carried out.

That work is now complete and completed.

Anna-Stina has done a fantastic job, says regional councilor Linda Frohm (M).

Denies the care staff's image

Regional Councilor Nils-Olov Lindfors (C) said that the pandemic had caused the reorganization and that it had thus dragged on, and that it had created some concern and turbulence.

- There have been demands for her resignation and they have painted her as if she has done a bad job, but that is completely false information.

A lot of information that goes out to the media is not correct, says Nils-Olov Lindfors (C).

He continues:

- We have fantastic healthcare.

It is painted as if the health care is in disrepair, but that is not the case.

Investes 20 million in care places

The regional management ended the press conference by announcing that they will invest SEK 20 million to try to get more care places at Sunderby Hospital.

SVT Norrbotten has tried to reach the regional director Anna-Stina Nordmark Nilsson but without success.
