The Kremlin commented on the sale of the Muratov Nobel medal to help refugees

The Kremlin spokesman noted that more and more people are helping refugees from Ukraine arriving in Russia.

“People with an open heart provide all possible assistance.

Any contribution to this cause, especially as far as children are concerned, is welcome.

Still, we are talking about a lot of people and about such a single popular impulse, ”he said.

Earlier it became known that the Nobel Peace Prize medal, owned by Novaya Gazeta editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov, was sold at an auction in the United States for $103.5 million.

The money received from the sale of the award will go to the countries of the world where there are Ukrainian refugee children, namely Poland, Russia, Germany, Moldova, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Dmitry Muratov won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021.

As stated in the decision of the Nobel committee, the prize was awarded for "efforts to protect freedom of expression, which is a prerequisite for democracy and lasting peace."
