(Peers in the Bay Area) The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's strong technology engine builds a global technology innovation highland

China News Agency, Guangzhou, June 21 (Reporter Wang Jian) Some cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area recently announced the positive list of ecological environment supervision and law enforcement in 2022. Currently, more than 620 companies have been selected into the positive list.

In addition to high-tech manufacturing, there are also traditional manufacturing industries such as petrochemicals, textiles, papermaking, and building materials.

Behind the green transformation of many enterprises is the solid foundation laid by the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.

According to reports, the total economic volume of the Greater Bay Area in 2021 will be about 12.6 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of about 2.4 trillion yuan over 2017, and the economic strength will be significantly enhanced.

According to the Global Innovation Index released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou innovation cluster ranks second in the world for two consecutive years.

The construction of the International Science and Technology Innovation Center in the Greater Bay Area has achieved remarkable results. The Pengcheng Laboratory has accelerated its development and achieved the world's leading artificial intelligence computing power. The Guangzhou laboratory has been listed for construction.

The layout of innovation capacity building has been continuously optimized.

Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have joined hands to build a comprehensive national science center first start-up area, the National Manufacturing Innovation Center for 5G Medium and High Frequency Devices, the National Engineering Research Center for Natural Hydrate Exploration and Development, and 5 Spallation Neutron Sources and Drive Transmutation Devices. The national major scientific and technological infrastructure has been approved for layout, relying on Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, Shenzhen Xili Lake International Science and Education City, Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City, etc. A number of major innovation cooperation platforms, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong and Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridors have been continuously upgraded.

At the same time, significant breakthroughs have been made in the opening-up and cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the integration of rules and mechanisms between the three places has been deepened, the liberalization of trade in services with Hong Kong and Macao has been basically realized, the commercial registration of Hong Kong and Macao enterprises has been realized through "one-stop service", and the time for business establishment has been reduced to 1 working day. The printing companies in the Greater Bay Area aim to achieve a substantial reduction in the industry's VOCs emissions by upgrading raw materials and optimizing the processing process through technical means.

At the keynote forum of the 1st China Nuclear Energy High Quality Development Conference, the clean energy blue book "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Green Development Report (2020)" edited by the International Clean Energy Forum (Macao) was officially released.

The development report pointed out that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area concentrates all aspects of clean energy production, education, research and application such as civil nuclear energy, offshore wind power, energy storage, hydrogen energy, new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, natural gas utilization, distributed energy, and comprehensive energy services. The Bay Area is expected to seize the commanding heights of the global clean energy industry.

In addition, in order to achieve the "dual carbon" goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, many cities in the Greater Bay Area are actively exploring the establishment of a green financial system, and accelerating the transformation of green recycling with industrial parks as a unit, through centralized subsidies, centralized monitoring, etc. Form, promote the creation of circular low-carbon pilot parks.
