After the legislative sanctions for the presidential camp, the right, with its sixty deputies, is in a position to offer a majority to Emmanuel Macron if it decides to ally with him.

But, there is no question of throwing oneself into the arms of the president.

The main figures of the Les Républicains party, meeting Monday afternoon in a strategic council, are almost unanimous on this end of inadmissibility: there will be no coalition or government pact between LR and Macronie.

Isolated, no, but in any case a little in divergence, yes, that's true

”.

Jean-François Copé, the former head of the UMP, ancestor of LR, is one of the few on the right to defend the idea of a government pact with Emmanuel Macron.

The other caciques of the party compete in formulas to say niet.

Not a spare wheel, not a crutch, not auxiliaries.

In short, Emmanuel Macron, manage.

Christian Jacob, the boss of the party Les Républicains, just after the strategic council, affirms: “

We had a healthy debate earlier and the position that I give you here is almost unanimous, ultra majority.

We, we are, once again, force of proposal, that is to say in a resolute, but responsible opposition

”.

LR wants to rebuild by 2027

LR therefore remains in opposition but the right promises to be constructive, by amending the laws of the Macronist camp, and by bringing its own ideas to the Assembly.

"

We will present, either before the end of the summer or in the fall, a series of proposals on the subjects of concern to the French on a daily basis, whether on purchasing power, on safety, on health

" , says Christian Jacob.

After having seen its electorate siphoned off and many of its elected officials poached by the macronie, the Les Républicains party has no interest in selling itself to the president now that the latter is weakened.

And LR has only one idea in mind, to rebuild itself by 2027, convinced that its independence has paid and will pay at the ballot box.
