"I have come to show my solidarity with the farmers who are once again hard hit by the vagaries of the weather, frost, hail and drought", declared to the press Marc Fesneau, who had come to see the damage in two farms in Loir-et. -Cher, one cereal in Thenay, the other wine in Oisly, affected by an episode of hail on Sunday.
“We need to be able to assess the damage and then assess the part that will be taken by insurance (for those who are insured) and the part that will be taken by national solidarity,” added the minister.
"National solidarity must be expressed, it is binding on everyone. We will deal with cases on a case-by-case basis. Each farmer is a special case," said Mr. Fesneau.
The Minister, appointed a month ago to Agriculture in the government of Elisabeth Borne, and re-elected Sunday deputy in the 1st constituency of Loir-et-Cher, also considered it necessary to understand "the phenomena which are taking place in order to try to provide preventive measures when possible".
"For the drought, we will have to put in place retaining devices that allow us to recover water and use it in periods of scarcity", suggested Marc Fesneau in particular.
