Democratic Party's Emergency Response Committee will hold a meeting this morning and receive a report on the issue of severe disciplinary action against Rep. Choi Kang-wook.

Earlier, the Party Ethics Tribunal unanimously sentenced Rep. Choi to a six-month suspension of Party membership.

In an online meeting with the party's judiciary committee members on April 28, he said that he had taken into account the inappropriate remarks he made while female aides were present and the fact that he continued to deny in the process of clarification and caused psychological pain to the victims.

[Kim Hoe-jae / Democratic Party Legal Committee Chairman (Ethics Judge): There was a big wave inside and outside the party, and the Emergency Response Committee requested an ex officio investigation from the Central Party

Ethics Judge in consideration of the seriousness of the matter.

It is the second highest level of disciplinary action after expulsion under the Democratic Party constitutional party rules.

Immediately after Rep. Choi's disciplinary decision, protests continued within the party.

The bulletin board of the Democratic Rights Party was bombarded with articles saying, "Remove Rep. Choi's disciplinary action" and "Discipline former Vice Chairman Park Ji-hyeon, who has demanded heavy disciplinary action from Rep. Choi."

On the other hand, former Chairman Park said, "It is a conclusion that is a little closer to the people instead of a strong fandom."

Immediately, opposition from members of the party followed.

People who should be self-reliant are not self-reliant,” and “the scoundrels of the Yun Seok-yeol administration who took care of the sick.”

In the midst of this, Rep. Choi announced on social media last night that he would follow the process of applying for a retrial, saying that he would protect his human rights and honor.
