You may be one of the unfortunate people who failed to get tickets for the France 2 Music Festival in Montpellier (Hérault).

Or maybe you don't like the programming offered by the public service.

Rest assured, it's not just that, this Tuesday evening, in the capital of Hérault.

20 Minutes

has selected for you a host of free events somewhat overshadowed by the giant podium of France Télévisions on the Esplanade de l'Europe, but which are nevertheless worth the detour.

At the Domaine d'O

A giant program is offered to music lovers at the Domaine d'O.

No less than five places will host very different atmospheres, from 6 p.m.

For lovers of operettas, the choir of the National Opera will perform famous airs by Jacques Offenbach, Franz Lehár or Johann Strauss at the Jean-Claude Carrière theater.

Behind the castle, the atmosphere will be more rock, with DJ Lord Diabolik and his "catch rock", Les Roulettes rousses and their 1990s covers, Arno-Léa and their psychedelic rock, the Loons trio, The Palavas surfers and Get Rythm Boys.

In front of the castle, jazz, reggae and blues, with Lord Sax, One Horse Band, Jacob Wild and The Margulians.

On the prairie, lovers of good big Jamaican sound systems will be served, with big speakers and reggae in them.

In the amphitheater, jazz and soul on the programme, with the Steam Down collective and Robin McKelle & The Flytones.

At the Rockstore

The legendary rock hall plays it committed.

At 8:30 p.m., the Rockstore welcomes the Dakh Daughters.

These seven young Ukrainian women, artists and activists, have taken refuge in France with their children, while their husbands are still at the front.

They will deliver a journey "made of thrills, beauty and anger", expressing "with power and humanity the need for freedom of the citizens of a changing world that opposes the bitterness of resignation".

But if it is resolutely committed, it is indeed an explosive show, mixing traditional Ukrainian melodies and current music, in a punk cabaret atmosphere, that they offer.

On Comedy

It is not because the Esplanade de l'Europe shines on television, this Tuesday evening, that the most beautiful square in the city will be extinguished.

On a large podium, on the Comédie, a multitude of local talents will follow one another, from 7 p.m.: the artists of Top Espace Musical, the "rock school" of Montpellier, Deer, the winner of the Artistic Lab, and the groups Dirty Bootz -Blues and Fabulous Sheep.

From 10:35 p.m., the event will be the spectacle of the famous Bronx Drummers.

Finally, the Montpellier DJ Caswell Vera, who has been scouring the bars and clubs of the south of France for ten years, will distill a house program from midnight, of which he has the secret.

In the villages

If you prefer to escape the fervor of the city, quite a few towns around Montpellier offer a little something for the Fête de la Musique.

In Clapiers, for example, it is at Parc Claude Leenhardt, from 7 p.m., that it happens.

On the bill, guitarist Al Basim, then an evening of Afro-Latin songs with the group Onda Ya.

In Juvignac, go to the Place du Soleil, with the swing of Les Grattes à Poiler, the bossa-nova of Felix Latorr Trio, the rock of Presence, Zik & Zag and Flying Bananas and the disco of Funk Stuff.

In Grabels, the Place de la Fontaine welcomes Thomas Toucourt, Dizzy Sound and Cosmyte from 8 p.m.

And at 8:30 p.m., DJ Olam, raï and Kabyle music from Azar and the Arab-Andalusian Ensemble will be at the Valsière amphitheater, and Place Jean Jaurès will play the vintage rock card with The Wombats and AOC On Stage.

At the seaside

If a midnight swim tempts you at the end of the ball, things are happening in the coastal towns.

At La Grande-Motte, the Théâtre de Verdure offers a concert by students from the conservatory, from 6 p.m., before a big concert by the Jazz Big Band.

For lovers of electronic music, head to the private Cozy Beach, with DJ Johnny Morelli, from 7 p.m.

In Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, the Grand Jardin welcomes, from 7 p.m., children's choirs and brass bands, and the K-Hello group.

Another atmosphere, at the Local, with the DJ Selecta'Guila, from 6 p.m.
