According to the weather forecast, there will still be heavy rainfall in the Pearl River Basin from June 20th to 21st, which will bring pressure to river flood defense, mountain torrent geological disaster prevention, flood safety of reservoirs and dams, and urban waterlogging response. The flood control situation in the Pearl River Basin is complicated and severe.

  The National Defense General Working Group went to Guangxi and Guangdong Province (autonomous region) today (20th) to inspect and guide the flood control and flood control work in the Pearl River Basin.

  At the request of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the basis of the disaster relief materials that had been allocated in the early stage, the General Office of National Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the State Grain and Material Reserve Bureau, again urgently dispatched 180 sets of life-saving equipment such as assault boats and rubber boats on the 19th, and 119 sets of large-flow emergency drainage pumps, mobile pumping stations and lighting equipment support Guangxi in carrying out flood fighting and emergency rescue work.

  At present, the National Defense General Administration continues to maintain a flood control level III emergency response, and has dispatched 3 working groups and expert groups to assist local governments in flood control and disaster relief work in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Jiangxi.

On the 20th, the National Defense Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to hold a video conference on flood control, and discussed with the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Natural Resources. The Prevention Office will analyze and judge the current flood situation and development trend, and further dispatch and deploy flood control and disaster relief work in the Pearl River and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
