The barn outside Eskilstuna will be a new cultural scene: "Here we will play summer opera"

Skensta gård has become Skensta Theater, a gathering place for theater and concerts.

The building will also be able to house other events such as weddings and parties.

The new Theater is located on the outskirts of Eskilstuna, in the direction of Torshälla.

- I have thought for a long time about what to have the barn for, which at times has been dilapidated and full of debris.

But then Eskilstuna heard about summer opera and asked if this room was vacant.

Then I started right away and started carpentry, says Lars Tull, theater director for Skensta Theater.

Skensta Theater opens with the premiere of The Cheerful Wives in Windsor on 6 August.
