A 36-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to eight years in prison by the criminal court of Val-d'Oise.

He was found guilty of a rape committed on the resident of a home located in Osny, on the night of September 20 to 21, 2011, reports

The victim, in his fifties, suffered from “psychological and cognitive deficiencies”, specify our colleagues.

The accused denied the facts until the last day of the trial, believing that the relationship was consented.

The aggravating circumstance of the resident's vulnerability was ultimately not retained.

Confused five years after the fact

The accused had only been arrested in 2016. The man had been confused by DNA analyzes in the context of another case of rape on a prostitute.

He is currently serving a three-year prison sentence for these acts, and another four and a half years for racketeering.
