  • Result Vox's first braking: neither government nor expectations

"It was a difficult campaign. I have felt at times in a David versus Goliath fight", "many disinformation campaigns against Vox. There has been informative terrorism, with partisan media and with a strong push for public subsidies," says Macarena Olona as the possible reasons for a result "that was not what we expected".

In her first appearance before the media after the Andalusian elections, the Vox candidate explains that despite this, "Vox has risen, almost 500,000 Andalusians have voted for it and we have gone from fifth to third political force. And most importantly, Andalusians have said

no

to Pedro Sánchez".

She points out that a process of internal reflection is beginning on the evolution of the campaign and the results.

Olona assures that he intends to "lead the opposition" and at the same time "reach out to Juan Manuel Moreno".

"We will make the opposition in all those matters in which the PP and PSOE have gone and go hand in hand, in those policies that until Vox arrived, no one dared to criticize", and "we will reach out to the Moreno government in all that that serves to improve the lives of Andalusians".

"With Vox, the debates that the left had decided to close are opened," says Olona, who has appeared supported by a good part of the leadership of his party and with a broad representation of the new Andalusian deputies of Vox.

Olona assures that they will continue to defend the "drastic cuts in public money, security in the streets and the family as the axis of politics," he points out.

Initially, he rules out abandoning Andalusia: "I will give myself body and soul."

But when asked what she would do if Santiago Abascal claimed her again for Congress, she adds: "I am a soldier but above all I am a daughter of God. I cannot assure you what God's plans are or what is to come, but my commitment is firm and they haven't had the opportunity to say otherwise and despite that they have done so".

"Our objective when the elections were called was not to be decisive, it was to win. We are respectful of the will of Andalusians. These seats that we have obtained are extraordinary news," he points out.

Olona, who has been upset with the treatment of the media during the campaign, added: "I cannot share, as I have seen in some headlines, that Vox is going to be irrelevant. Vox has made possible a historic collapse of the left. It is going to be Vox who is going to lead the opposition in those points of permanent embrace between PP and Vox," he stressed.

"We have not been wrong," says Olona when asked if there have been mistakes during the election campaign.

"For the media we are never right. If I dress in a flamenco dress... what if I have a mother from Jaén... They have not managed to get us to enter their artificial debates, we have not danced the water that the media wanted in this campaign. Multiple hoaxes have been spread, like we had suspended the agenda".
