International law unambiguously guarantees any state access to its exclave, treating any obstruction to the exercise of this right as aggression,” the politician wrote.

According to Ishchenko, Lithuania takes advantage of the fact that Russia still has access to Kaliningrad by sea, but nevertheless, a violation of the provisions of international law is seen, since the state must maintain land transit.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said that Lithuania is violating a number of international legal acts affecting the obligations of the European Union by starting a blockade of the Kaliningrad region.

On June 17, Lithuanian Railways notified the Kaliningrad Railway of the termination of the transit of a number of sanctioned goods.

The Kaliningrad region has already put forward three proposals for response to the Lithuanian decision.
