The loss of the absolute majority by the Macronist coalition Together!

is a blow for Emmanuel Macron, who has seen some of his most loyal allies lose their seats.

Among them, Christophe Castaner and Richard Ferrand.

The latter bowed to the candidate Nupes.

A defeat that particularly impacted the head of state.

The defeat of Richard Ferrand in the legislative elections is undoubtedly the one that hurts Emmanuel Macron the most.

In addition to the loss of yet another constituency, it represents a setback with serious consequences for Together!.

Indeed, Richard Ferrand was the favorite despite a difficult first round against Mélanie Thomin, the Nupes candidate who was finally elected MP with 50.8% of the vote.

Fourth man of the state and president of the National Assembly, he is one of the first faithful allies of Emmanuel Macron, the first of the Socialist Party to join him.

So, the President of the Republic loses a captain - one of those he was closest to and who dared to speak to him frankly.

Thank you all for this great collective victory ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️#circo2906#NUPESpic.twitter.com/6AHy0Htw5o

804 votes from victory

Sunday evening, it was a dejected Richard Ferrand with a bitter smile who appeared in front of his campaign headquarters to admit defeat in his Breton stronghold.

"The voters of the sixth constituency of Finistère have chosen to elect my competitor as MP," he said.

"Obviously I want to send my congratulations to the one who won this evening and to express for her, for France and for our territory wishes of full success."

Preceded by only 804 votes, Richard Ferrand was unable to tap enough into the reserves of votes of the National Rally and the Republicans to run for a third term.

The hope of relief therefore leaves only the sad taste of shipwreck.
