• The Fête de la Musique is back this Tuesday in Strasbourg, with a “headliner” stage on Place Kléber where a giant karaoke will be organized by Arte.

  • Despite the absence of a guest star, the program is well supplied and leaves the places in town to many local groups.

  • The prefecture announces the establishment of a protection perimeter, which mainly concerns the Grande Île de Strasbourg.

Residents, on your marks… Prepare your earplugs, remember to park your car outside the center of Strasbourg, take your favorite musical instrument or your turntable, and come down to take part in the Fête de la Musique.

Even if in the Alsatian capital there is no guest star to attract the crowd, we rather do in the short circuit with local groups, the party this Tuesday should be there, all in simplicity and with a program well supplied.

Discovered scenes

More than 300 Strasbourg artists will perform from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on thirteen stages set up on the Grande-Ile.

With scenes discovered places Gutenberg, Broglie and Saint-Thomas.

There is something for all tastes, all music.

Off the beaten track, the Fête de la Musique is also a good opportunity to discover the Strasbourg University Orchestra.

Formation which is preparing for the European Student Orchestra Festival on July 1st in Toulouse.

The latter will do a big rehearsal at the reformed church of Saint-Paul, place du Général-Eisenhower between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

In a completely different atmosphere, the Vox cinema intends to liven up the street again this year with Deep House, hip-hop and electro with the presence of DJ BnH, Julien B, SBEAT and Marie Sax from 7 p.m.

Or head for Le Tigre, rue du Faubourg National.

From 5 p.m., the DJs also hold the place with house sets by Zuko or even Holocene.

Then at 8 p.m., we go to rock with Dallas Experience then at 10:15 p.m. with Big Five.

Afraid of the crowd?

For those who suffer from agoraphobia but love music and technology, head to the university campus.

That's where it happens.

The cultural action department of the University of Strasbourg and the AJAM offer from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. an immersive journey under headphones, between beekeeping and electroacoustics with the Lab'Ut studio.

At 5.30 p.m., "Classique à Trois" (clarinet, cello and piano) takes place in the shade of the lime trees on campus and invites you to rediscover, between chamber music and "geek" culture, the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Popper and Poulenc .

Finally at 7 p.m., the percussion and voice quartet of the No Limit Orchestra revisits the key music of video games and cinema in mutant and unclassifiable arrangements.

The headliner this year is you!

On the main stage at Place Kléber, from 5.30 p.m., a Ukrainian cellist opens the festivities before handing over to Espersan (2019 Young Talent Winner), then Zimmia and finally Laventure, both winners of the Hopl'Awards 2021.

A bit banal but essential this year in Strasbourg, it will be very simple because this year, the guest star is you!

Indeed, on the "headliner" stage, the Arte channel, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, is organising, from 8 p.m., a giant karaoke featuring classics of French chanson, international pop, hip-hop and rock.

Something to sing, dance and have fun all evening long.

Finally, but it is not the same music, the prefecture of Bas-Rhin announced in a press release on Monday, the return of major controls "given the terrorist threat which remains high".

Also, a protection perimeter, the Big Island, is set up from Tuesday June 21 at 4 p.m. to Wednesday June 22 at 2 a.m.

With the appetizer, the visual inspection of luggage, restrictions or even bans on access to cars and of course the ban on the transport of fireworks or even glass containers...
