A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday at Austerlitz station in Paris after the discovery of weapons and ammunition in his belongings,

According to our information, the police officers of the Ile-de-France networks brigade noticed the suspect while he was in the station waiting room.

He wore a black satchel at his waist and had a large blue travel bag at his feet.

The officials then decide to check his identity.

The man first tells them that he does not have any dangerous object on him.

However, in his satchel is discovered a black switchblade knife, with a 10 cm blade.

The suspect then becomes "increasingly tense" when the police tell him that they will search his travel bag.

Inside, they discover a bulletproof vest, a handgun and five cartridges in a transparent bag.

The 25-year-old man from Poitiers (Vienne) is handcuffed and placed in police custody.
