A 24-year-old Guyanese woman was placed in pre-trial detention at the Lyon-Corbas remand center (Rhône) and should appear immediately on Monday.

She is suspected of being a mule in charge of transporting drugs because of her multiple plane trips, says Le Dauphiné Libéré.

88 eggs swallowed

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday June 15 by customs officers who were waiting for her at the Valence-TGV station in Alixan (Drôme).

She was then transported to the Valencia hospital center.

An examination made it possible to locate in its stomach a kilo of cocaine distributed in 88 eggs.

She was taken into custody and then brought before the prosecution on Sunday.

She will have to explain her actions before the criminal court of Valence.
