The Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh witnessed today, Sunday, an Egyptian-Jordanian-Bahraini tripartite summit that brought together the leaders of the three countries, during which they affirmed their keenness to maintain coordination on issues of common concern. They also welcomed the participation of US President Joe Biden in an Arab-American summit hosted by the Saudi capital, Riyadh, next July.

King Abdullah II of Jordan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed the need to expand cooperation between the three countries in various fields, stressing the importance of intensifying work in order to face food security challenges, high prices and energy costs resulting from international developments.

The statement issued by the Jordanian Royal Court stated that the meeting touched on regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, as it was stressed - according to the statement - the need to support the Palestinians in their efforts to achieve their just and legitimate rights in the establishment of their state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. basis of the two-state solution.

The statement quoted the kings of Jordan and Bahrain praising the "close" ties that unite the three countries, and the two kings considered that the relations between these countries "represent a cornerstone for maintaining regional security and stability and restoring balance to the region, in light of the pivotal importance of Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan regionally and internationally."

For his part, a statement by the Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Radi, which was published on his official Facebook page, said that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed his country's aspiration to enhance cooperation with Bahrain and Jordan, in a way that "achieves the common interests of their peoples and enhances the efforts of joint Arab action."

The talks dealt, according to the Egyptian presidency's statement, "close relations and paths of constructive bilateral cooperation between the three countries, and mutual coordination towards various issues of common concern, in addition to the latest developments on the regional and international arenas and the challenges facing the region."

According to the statement, Sisi received the King of Jordan this morning, Sunday, in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Sisi had received the King of Bahrain yesterday, Saturday, and the spokesman said that the meeting witnessed discussions on frameworks and prospects for joint cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain, especially in the economic and investment fields.

The leaders welcomed the upcoming summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next July between the leaders of the member states of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and the United States of America.

These meetings coincide with a foreign tour that is expected to be started by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to Egypt, Jordan and Turkey.
