Ukraine's parliament votes to ban Russian music and books

Ukrainian parliamentarian Zheleznyak said that his country's parliament voted in favor of banning the import and distribution of books, publishing products and music from Russia and Belarus.

"Parliament has banned the import and distribution of books and other publishing products from Russia, Belarus and from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine," Zheleznyak wrote on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Ukrainian authorities are pursuing a fierce policy to remove everything that is Russian and forcibly force the population to abandon it.

According to Russia Today, Lavrov indicated that Russia wants to see Ukraine as a friend, without banning the Russian language and Russian culture.
