This is a result that illustrates the rout of the presidential party.

This Sunday, the President of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand was beaten in his 6th constituency of Côtes d'Armor in the second round of the legislative elections.

In a super close duel, it was ultimately the socialist candidate Mélanie Thomin, invested by Nupes, who overthrew Emmanuel Macron's loyal lieutenant.

The future MP has just over 50.7% of the vote against 49.3% for the former President of the Assembly, or about 600 votes apart.

In the first round of the legislative elections, Richard Ferrand took the lead in the first round with 33.6% of the vote, just over three points ahead of the socialist Mélanie Thomin, invested by Nupes.

In 2017, Richard Ferrand had easily won the duel which opposed him to the right in the 6th district of Finistère.

He had been elected President of the National Assembly by the deputies of the majority.
