After eliminating her namesake in the first round, Sandrine Rousseau beat outgoing deputy Buon Tan (Together!) in the second round of the legislative elections.
The environmental candidate of Nupes was elected deputy for the 9th district of Paris with 58.1% of the votes cast.
His opponent for the presidential majority won 41.9% of the vote in this constituency which corresponds to the 13th arrondissement of the capital and which brings together some 70,800 registered voters.
The ecologist assured that the deputies of the Nupes will do "the necessary heckling" to cover the voice of the Minister of Solidarity Damien Abad in the National Assembly, because of the accusations of sexual assault against him.
“If he remains minister, many of us will be making an opposition like never before so that this person does not have a legitimate voice inside the National Assembly”, declared Sandrine Rousseau on TF1, Sunday evening.
