Controversy is growing in recent years as a series of incidents in China where teachers commit reckless assaults on students.

On the 14th local time, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that the principal of a middle school in northwestern China had recently fired a teacher for assaulting a student.

On the 13th of last month, the teacher who was fired punched Geng, a 15-year-old middle school student, with his fist for not paying attention to class, and Jing was cut in the face by the shards of the glasses lenses he was wearing.

The incident left Jing wounded under his eye and underwent surgery for a total of 16 stitches.

After the incident, there was a debate within China about whether teachers should be held accountable for beating students.

The teacher in question took Jing to the local hospital after the assault, but on the way, he did not notify his parents of the situation at the time, and just delivered the message 'Transferring to the hospital with Jing'.

Jing's parents, who later found out about the situation, mentioned the poorly treated wounds and said, "The teacher repeatedly hurt the child physically and mentally. The family was also hurt."

In addition, she said, "The child is refusing to go to school because of the current wound, because she has lost confidence in her appearance. I cannot go to school until the wound is healed."

As the parents looked into past cases, the offender teacher had assaulted another student before, and this was considered the most serious incident and did not accept the teacher's apology.

In the end, the school dismissed the perpetrators, handed over the case to the police and said that they are currently investigating.

Earlier, in China, on the 10th of last month, a video of indiscriminate assault in which a teacher grabbed a student's hair and swayed back and forth and stepped on it several times during class was released, causing controversy.

And Chinese parents who have witnessed the successive Jing incidents are raising their voices, worrying about the safety of their children.

Parents said through SNS, "It is a very violent crime. Teachers must be punished by the law", "If the level of punishment is low, the safety of children will be threatened and the dignity of the law will be lost", "Irresponsible teacher behavior" has a negative effect on children.”
