His Highness said, during his meeting with the citizens of the northern Emirates, yesterday, in the Emirate of Fujairah, that the national meetings with the people of the country in various regions of the country come out of the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, for the leaders and officials of the country to stand on the needs of citizens. He closely monitors their conditions and issues, as His Highness believes that the Emirati person is the most valuable asset of the state.

The masses of citizens who came to His Highness’s Majlis in the Al Aqah area in the Emirate of Fujairah expressed their joy and happiness at meeting His Highness, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, extending their congratulations and blessings to His Highness, the President of the State, for the joys the country is experiencing on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the National Day, stressing that these meetings and visits are for His Highness and the Crown Prince. Then His Highness and his companions went to visit the multi-purpose port of Fujairah, and His Highness listened to an explanation of its many activities, which include marine supply through the Fujairah Marina and shipping of general cargo.

His Highness also went to the marina, which provides a full range of marine logistics services, as it includes more than 80 private service and supply vessels operating within the port.

His Highness was briefed on the strategic grain storage project, which is scheduled to start operating grain silos and loading and unloading ports in a special berth within Al-Kasir Al-Janoub berths, during the current year 2011, where the storage capacity of these silos will reach 250 thousand tons.

His Highness also listened to an explanation about the petroleum projects implemented in the port, related to storing and re-exporting oil and its products, as the emirate's port has become among the three most important global centers for supplying ships with fuel, in addition to being a vital and strategic center for storing oil derivatives, as it includes about 125 warehouses. Its capacity is approximately three million cubic metres, and it is handled by the modern equipment of the seven port berths, with a total length of two kilometers in length.

His Highness was briefed on the expansion plan that Fujairah Port will witness during the next two years, which includes building 125 new warehouses, bringing the number of warehouses to 250, and a storage capacity of nearly eight million cubic meters of various petroleum products.

His Highness also visited the Fujairah warehouse for storing and distributing diesel, fuel oil, gasoline and aviation fuel, which was recently completed. million dirhams.

His Highness and His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah inspected the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline Project, which the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) is implementing the ADCOB project, the largest crude oil pipeline project in the Middle East to be completed in Abu Dhabi.

His Highness and the audience listened to an explanation from the Managing Director of IPIC, Khadem Al Qubaisi, about the project, which began in 2008, with a value of 10 billion dirhams, and which accommodates the transport of between one and one and a half million barrels per day, via a 360-kilometre line, with a diameter of 48 inches. , with the possibility of raising it to one million and 800 thousand barrels, which is equivalent to about 60% of Abu Dhabi's total crude oil exports.

Al Qubaisi explained that in parallel with this project, IPIC will implement next year the Fujairah Refinery project with a refining capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, at a cost of about 11 billion dirhams, and the two projects will provide more than 1,400 job opportunities for citizens.

IPIC said that the first shipment of crude oil will be exported through the project in May next year.

His Highness concluded his tour, accompanied by His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, by visiting the Fujairah Naval Base, which is characterized by its vital location, and listened to a detailed explanation about its strategic importance, both in terms of location and in terms of the objectives for which it was established, the most important of which is protecting the country’s maritime coasts and securing navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz region. Which is the lifeline through which global oil tankers cross and it carries more than 60% of the world's oil consumption.
