The medication of the patient has been going on since 2003 and the nurses at the accommodation tell Ivo that there is a decision that they needed to do it that way, "because it worked well for the individual".

Mixed in juice

The two medications in question are neuroleptics, which are used in, for example, schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions.

They have been mixed with juice as the patient would not have taken the medicine otherwise.

The man can be outspoken, aggressive and get angry - "but he loves juice", the interviewed staff justifies the approach to the medication.

No consent

Staff further tells Ivo that there is no consent to the medication from the resident.

According to the nurses, the doctors at the health center are responsible for the drug treatment.

Ivo: Illegal approach

Ivo decides that Rättvik's municipality has administered drugs in an unauthorized manner to a patient when the patient has not agreed to take the drugs and when there is no other legal support for the measure.

The municipality of Rättvik has failed to plan, lead and control the activities in a way that aims to ensure that care is based on respect for the patient's integrity.
