British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the Ukrainian capital once again on Friday June 17.

“I am delighted to see a great friend of our country, Boris Johnson, in kyiv again,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

"It's good to be in Kyiv again," said Boris Johnson, who had already been to Kyiv on April 9, on Twitter.

He was then the first leader of a G7 country to visit Ukraine.

London has provided particularly strong military support to kyiv ever since.

According to a statement from Boris Johnson's office, the British Prime Minister has "proposed to launch a major training program for Ukrainian forces, which could train up to 10,000 soldiers every 120 days". 

"My visit today, in the midst of war, aims to send a clear and simple message to Ukrainians: the United Kingdom is with you, and will be with you until victory," said Boris Johnson, quoted in this release.

"Many days of war have proven it: Britain's support for Ukraine is firm and resolute," said the Ukrainian president.

"We have a common vision of how Ukraine can achieve victory." 

Boris Johnson's visit to kyiv to that, the day before, of French, German, Italian and Romanian leaders, all members of the European Union unlike the United Kingdom. 

These European officials said they favor granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership, as did the European Commission on Friday – a status requested by Kyiv with the hope that it will lead to membership. fast to the European bloc.
