This year's shortlist includes photographers from 14 countries, including Iran, China, Italy and Spain, Bangladesh, the Philippines, the United States, and more.

For the first time, reporters from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Guatemala are among the shortlisted participants.

The full list of 2022 nominees is published on the Russian and English versions of the site.

“The works of the new year have once again confirmed that photography in the modern world is a stable form of communication and understanding of events at any level.

It does not require translation and additional explanations, and therefore is universal.

No matter how difficult times may be, young photojournalists master this universal language and are able to think beyond just momentary event boundaries.

They are wise and talented, and the team of our competition sincerely wishes them victory!”, said the curator of the competition.

Stenina Oksana Oleinik.

The Organizing Committee will announce the prizes of the shortlisted nominees and the Grand Prix winner in September on the website.

The competition also plans to launch the traditional road show of winners around the world's cities before the end of the year.

In March, the first results of the 8th Andrei Stenin International Photojournalism Competition became known.
