In December last year, a man in his 40s was robbed at his home in Falköping.

The forty-year-old was beaten down and forced to take out his computer because the perpetrators were interested in getting over the man's cryptocurrencies - so-called bitcoins.

The man was tied up in his bed and has told that he was threatened with a knife.

The prosecutor at Skarborg District Court demanded a aggravated robbery, but the total of four perpetrators were convicted of robbery in four and a half and three years in prison respectively.

The men who are residents of Västerås and Stockholm are in custody waiting for the verdict to be enforced.

- That they were looking for cryptocurrency was what stood out in this case, I have probably never experienced that before, says chamber prosecutor Sofia Karlsson.

According to the ruling in Skaraborg District Court, the men came across a total of just over SEK 135,000 in cryptocurrency, SEK 12,000 in cash and a bundle of Pokemon cards.
