The roof of a seven-storey building caught fire this Thursday, Place Jean Jaurès in Annemasse, Haute-Savoie.

A large device made up of 50 firefighters was deployed to contain the fire, reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m.

Firefighters managed to evacuate all occupants of the building in time.

No injuries were deplored on the side of the inhabitants, such as firefighters.

The flames were completely extinguished around 4 p.m. and the risk of spread was brought under control.

The municipality took care of people who could not return to their apartment by providing them with a rehousing solution.

An investigation has been opened to determine the origin and circumstances of the incident.
