In response to the U.S. State Department’s announcement that it is establishing a “China Group” to deal with the so-called “most important geopolitical threat” facing the United States in the 21st century, the associate editor of the American Journal of Chinese Political Science and a professor at the School of Politics and International Relations of East China Normal University Joseph Gregory Mahoney said in China News Agency's "East-West Question·China Dialogue" that to some extent, these groups are just pretending, in order to create an "impression that they are working hard."
