According to reports from Taiwanese media such as the Central News Agency, China Times News, and United News, the "epidemic command center" of the Taiwan authorities announced on the 16th that there were 63,170 new local confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia and 168 new deaths.
The new local cases are still dominated by counties and cities in central and southern Taiwan.
Among them, Taichung City added 9,523 cases and Kaohsiung City added 9,316 cases.

The official said that with the exception of Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung and other places, the number of admissions to special wards in most parts of Taiwan has declined, but the central and southern parts are still in a "plateau period", and changes in the next week or two need to be observed; The number of admissions also showed a downward trend.
