It was earlier this year that the final decision was made to sell the property Tensta gymnasium, which also includes Tensta Träff.

The City of Stockholm then sold the property to Hemsö AB, which at the time of the commencement began a renovation of the school building part.

- Tensta Träff will also now undergo a minor renovation and then the idea is that we will be able to open up for operations in September, says Johan Einarsson, project developer at Hemsö.

Tensta Träff has previously been a culture house with both a library and meeting rooms.

Now the library has moved to another location in Tensta, and the idea for the building for the next two years is to run a civic-driven gathering place under the leadership of Save the Children and Folkets Hus och Parker.

Closes again when the school building opens

It is currently not decided who will take over Tensta gymnasium, which is currently being renovated, but when the school building is ready to open its doors in the autumn term of 2024, Tensta Träff will once again be closed for a more extensive renovation over a two-year period.

Thereafter, the ambition is to further anchor the needs of the local community in the business development of Tensta Träff.
