President Yoon Seok-yeol appointed former Democratic Party leader Kim Han-gil as chairman of the National Unity Committee, a committee directly under the president.



The National Integration Committee has been made a permanent body within the 20th Presidential Transition Committee, and will mainly be in charge of policies and projects for national unification.



Former Chairman Kim is an elder politician who has been serving as a non-mainstream and non-major leader in the Democratic Party for a long time.



In November of last year, he returned to the forefront of politics by accepting the post of chairman of the 'New Era Preparation Committee' proposed by then-People's Strength Presidential Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol.



Throughout the presidential race, he led the extension work, including former Democratic Party affiliates and figures from the Honam area.



After President Yoon stepped down from his position as prosecutor-general last year and entered politics, it is known that former CEO Kim has provided political assistance under the water.
