The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held consultations on the coalition crisis plaguing his government, in the presence of his political advisor, in which he discussed the possibility of establishing an alternative government with the participation of opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu without dissolving the Knesset and heading to early elections.

Bennett's office confirmed the holding of these consultations, but denied their content, and said that Bennett was busy managing state affairs and the continuation of his government's work.

The ruling coalition in Israel had lost a few weeks ago the parliamentary majority, after a rebellion and the withdrawal of a number of Knesset members from it.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the opposition Likud Party is examining the possibility of introducing a bill to dissolve the Knesset and to bring the general elections early next week, if a majority is available to pass it.

It is noteworthy that the agreement to form the current government coalition stipulates that the head of the "There is a Future" party, Yair Lapid, will head the government next year.
