“

Our product, our rules

,” said Alexei Miller, chief executive of oil and gas giant Gazprom on Thursday.

The person in charge spoke within the framework of the

economic forum of Saint-Petersburg

which must be used for the Kremlin, to show that it was not isolated on the international scene by engaging in Ukraine.

By making this statement following a 60% drop in gas delivery to Europe, the businessman shattered a rule dear to the Kremlin.

Russia has always made it a point of honor to prove to its customers that it is a reliable partner, refusing to play on the lever of gas in the context of conflicts which did not directly affect Europe.

A mean of pression

The rule no longer exists.

Russia is a reliable energy supplier for the friends of Russia

 ," said Alexei Miller.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, European countries have been described as unfriendly by Russia.

The Kremlin also took the lead and halted delivery to several European customers who had refused to pay in rubles.

Vladimir Putin is expected on this subject as on that of cereals on Friday noon, in a speech he is to deliver to representatives of the Russian and Egyptian economic world.
