Reuters news agency quoted a statement by the US-led international coalition as saying that a senior ISIS leader had been arrested during an operation at dawn on Thursday in the countryside of Jarablus, in opposition-controlled areas in northern Syria.

The international coalition said that the captured ISIS leader is an experienced bomb maker who has become one of the organization's senior leaders in Syria, noting that "the operation was carefully planned to limit collateral damage, especially any potential harm to civilians."

The coalition added that its forces "will continue to hunt down ISIS remnants wherever they are, to ensure their permanent defeat."

The statement stressed, "No civilian was harmed during the operation in Syria, and no coalition members or aircraft were harmed."

And Syrian local sources had reported earlier that helicopters, likely belonging to the international coalition, carried out an airdrop.

Syrian media websites broadcast pictures that they said were of the helicopters of the International Coalition during the landing process.

These Syrian sites and local sources did not specify the nature of the landing process.

It is noteworthy that Jarablus is a border city with Turkey, located about 125 km northeast of the city of Aleppo.
