From the South-West to the Pays de Loire as well as Drome and Ardèche, 23 departments were placed on heat wave orange vigilance from Thursday to Saturday.

The heat will intensify in the afternoon

While nighttime cooling will still remain fairly effective, with minimum temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees north of the Loire and often 16 to 21 degrees in the south, the heat will intensify significantly in the afternoon, especially on the half south.

Maximum values ​​of 35 to 39 degrees are expected in the south-west as far as the Pays de Loire, as well as in the Mediterranean regions and going up in the Rhône valley.

A few points at 40 degrees will even be possible from time to time.

In other regions, the maximum will reach 30 to 35 degrees, remaining below 30 degrees only near the Channel and Normandy on the Belgian border with 24 to 29 degrees.
